Our island is home to unique desserts and sweet treats inspired from Hawaiian and Asian cultures. Here’s your guide to some of our favorite places in town from Acai bowls, mochi, puffs, malasadas to Ube ice cream! 

Dessert crawl, anyone?

Banán Waikiki Beach Shack- Cool down with a cold snack at the beach! An Oahu based food truck that transforms local bananas and other island grown ingredients into a delicious dairy-free soft serve! 

Dole Whip – The pineapple-flavored Dole Whip soft serve is so popular that you don’t even need to go to the Dole Plantation to get one. Find them at just about every hole-in-the-wall market in Waikiki (credit: Hawaii Magazine)

Island Vintage Shave Ice – Steps away from our hotel on Kalakaua Ave., this busy kiosk refreshing shave ice bowls, bubble teas, smoothies and ice cream!

Leonard’s Bakery – Family-owned bakery famous for their sugary addicting malasadas, a Portuguese style donut! Leonard’s also bakes up an assortment of goodies such as cookies/cakes, breads, pastries and pies!

Liliha Bakery and Coffee Shop – A local Hawaii staple since 1950, this landmark bakery is known for their Coco Puffs. The full-service bakery and diner serves up Hawaiian breakfast classics such as Loco Moco, Portuguese sausage and eggs, grilled mahimahi and a delicious selection of sweets and pastries. 

Magnolia Ice Cream – Ice cream made from real tropical fruit and Real California Milk! Top mango, avocado, coconut, purple yam and all  other tropical fruit goodness churned into a delicious, creamy ice cream! Happy sampling!

MoDo doughnuts – MOCHI + DONUT = MODO. Mochi donut concept shop with more than a dozen flavors to choose from. Located at The International Marketplace in Mitsuwa!

Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery – Helmed by former Leonard’s Bakery executive, this bakeshop offers delicious malasadas “The Gold Standard” of Malasadas” by Eater), homemade ice cream, cake bombs, malamode and pastries!

Somisomi – Popular Korean-inspired soft serve in ornate waffle and cake-like fish-shaped cones! Indulge in a Taiyaki if you’re not in the mood for soft serve – fish-shaped cones filled with red bean, nutella, custard or taro.

Sunrise Shack – Hawaii’s top place to get healthy superfood and smoothie bowls, organic lunch treats and bullet coffee!
