Meet the Designer – “Nature Meets Neon” Hotel Renovation
Aloha!
Meet the designers of our renovated property! Shoreline Hotel Waikiki‘s “Nature Meets Neon” theme was concepted by Army of Moon People and designed by BHDM Design, spearheaded by owner Dan Mazzarini.
The redesign features a colorful update to the 135-room hotel, including a 26-foot high white “jungle wall” art piece in the lobby, custom furnishings, and an updated rooftop pool deck with commissioned mural artwork, along with new hotel programming for guests and locals. “Nature Meets Neon” brings to life the dramatic landscape and sunsets of Hawaii with a contemporary twist – designs are a bold mix of colors and patterns, blending Hawaiian inspirations, bright color palettes, and modern shapes to create the perfect aloha stay and experience.
- Furnishings include geometric shapes mixed with both natural and neon materials – custom Acacia wood cocktail tables sit in front of a 14-foot long sofa, and are paired with modern Goldfinch Yellow wingback chairs and blue metal end tables
- Rooms feature custom-made furniture, with yellow Sunbrella-upholstered fabric chairs, wooden platform beds and a custom throw blanket, red metal tables with lamp, metal desks with welcome amenities
-
Bathrooms details include white Monstera leaf stencil decals on mirrors, custom yellow aloha towel bar, turquoise toilet seat covers and custom signature Monstera leaf print on shower curtain
“Our design aim for Shoreline was to create a colorful and unique experience for the millennial-minded traveler. ‘Nature meets neon’ throughout, blending the natural beauty of Hawaii’s flora and wildlife with all the colors of an ‘eternal sunset’,” said Dan Mazzarini, owner of BHDM Design. “We’ve designed Shoreline to be the backdrop to an already exciting getaway, and for guests and the community to share memories of their visit.”
